Dr. Gerard J. Musante,
PhD. is the founder and director of Structure House, a residential weight
management and healthy lifestyle clinic in Durham, NC. Established in 1977,
Structure House pioneered the behavior approach to weight management.
Thousands of adults from all 50 states and more than 35 countries have
sought and found solutions for their negative relationships with food. In
addition, Dr. Musante is a consulting professor at the Duke University
Medical Center.
Walter J. Pories, MD FACS, is the Chief of the Eastern Carolina University
Metabolic Institute and the Principal Investigator for major obesity
research grants for the National Institutes of Health and Industry. In
addition, Dr. Pories is the former President of the American Society for
Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Dennis Gage, M.D., F.A.C.P. is Board Certified in Internal Medicine,
Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Clinical Nutrition. He is a Clinical
Instructor in Medicine at New York University and an Attending Physician at
Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC.

Medical Center, NYC Dr. Gage has a private practice in NYC. Member, NAASO,
ADA, AMA. Dr. Gage is the author of The Thinderella Syndrome: A Practical
Guide to Individualized Permanent Weight Loss-

research projects in the treatment of obesity.
Sylvia
Escott-Stump, MA, RD, LDN
is the Dietetic Programs Director at East Carolina University in Greenville,
North Carolina and has a consulting practice, Nutritional Balance.
She has established a 5-county WIC program; consulted for Dietetic Services
Departments and dietetic education programs; and managed budgets and
contracts over $850,000 annually. She is author of 6 editions of
Nutrition and Diagnosis-Related Care and 4 editions of Krause’s Food,
Nutrition and Diet Therapy.
Sylvia has an MA in
Adult-Community Education, and a BS in Nutrition Education from Indiana
University of PA. Honors include the Medallion Award from the American
Dietetic Association; Outstanding Dietitian of Pennsylvania ; Distinguished
Alumni Award from IUP. She has served The American Dietetic Association as
Chair of the Standardized Language Task Force; Speaker of the House of
Delegates; Chair of Issues Management, Council on Professional Issues,
Clinical Nutrition Management DPG. Sylvia served as a CADE Site Visitor and
as president and treasurer for Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Pittsburgh
associations; and she has served on governance, positions, and quality
management committees.
Kitty Gurkin Rosati, M.S., R.D., L.D.N., has specialized in the prevention and reversal of heart disease and other chronic diseases, with over 13 years of professional experience with cardiac and drug rehabilitation. Her work experiences also include teaching nutrition to dental students at the U.N.C. at Chapel Hill, to IBM executives in the NC Research Triangle, and to patients in private practice. After years in cardiac rehabilitation, she published her successful consulting nutrition efforts in implementing a reversal cardiac diet in the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. She is a Registered Dietitian involved in preventing and reversing heart disease through a healing of not only the physical, but of the emotional and spiritual self as well. Kitty is author of the book HEAL YOUR HEART: "The New Rice Diet Program for Reversing Heart Disease Through Nutrition, Exercise, and Spiritual Renewal" and THE RICE DIET COOKBOOK and along with Dr. Rosati is co-author of THE RICE DIET SOLUTION: The World-Famous Low-Sodium, Good-Carb, Detox Diet for Quick and Lasting Weight Loss.
